Alpine peaks to riparian river banks.

Today was very busy. We started our day taking the tram up Rendezvous Mountain, about 10,500 feet. We could not have asked for a more beautiful day. The weather was perfect. Most of us found the elevation change made it hard to breathe as we hiked. Next we stopped at the visitor's center in the park, had pizza at Dornan's, and did a fantastic Snake River float trip. Kids were going to write tonight but it is very late and everyone is exhausted. Hoping to have then catch up tomorrow.

Often times I find myself pushed to the edge. Well today I was not pushed to the edge, but I took myself to the edge. Allow me to explain. We arrived early morning at Jackson hole ski resort. Though we were not skiing (unfortunately) we were, in fact, taking a gondola to the summit of one of the Teton mountains. Rendezvous mountain to be precise. As the lift took us on a 12 minute ride, we enjoyed the splendor of the panoramic view of the mountain. After some time we were at the peak. Approximately 10,928 ft. We hiked a bit on different trails that led us around the mountain while we took in the majesty and splendor of our god-like point of view. Soon we reached a cliff where we could stare down into a vast ravine and proceeded to eat our lunch and take pictures. Then we hiked about the mountain in which we learned many different aspects of the ecosystem and species of creatures there. Then we made our way back to the lift to descend. Then we made our way to the visitor center for a scavenger hunt and a quick documentary. Afterwards, we ate our dinner at an Italian restaurant which supposedly had the best view of the mountains. We laughed and ate dinner, enjoying the view. After dinner we went to the Snake River for our float trip. My raft consisted of Cameron, Rachel, Lake, Morgan, Will, our guide Dion, and of course, yours truly. We saw everything from beaver, to eagles and even a moose (which Cameron named Jared). For most of the trip we sat up front, but then Cameron, Will and I took to the back to eat chips and enjoy the trip in solitude. Then we ended the trip and went home and collapsed like corpses into sleep.  -Brendan-

Today we hiked the Tetons and then ended the day with a water raft trip through the Snake River. We started the day with a trip up the gondola to the top of the mountain. We went from the gondola to the edge of the mountains and had lunch there with a fabulous view of all the rivers and mountains. We learned a lot up at 10,500 ft. We learned about how the environment is hard for plants to grow and how they grow towards the sun. We learned a little about the animals and their adaption to the environment. We hiked up the highest point and took some pics. We then went to the gondola. After our amazing hiking trip we went back to the  visitor center and had a scavenger hunt. We also went to go see a movie on the history of Jackson Hole. We then went to Dornan's for dinner at the pizza place and had great pizza. And I thought the day couldn't get any better. We then for the end of the day went on a very scenic water raft trip. We say 12 beavers 1 moose and 3 bald eagles. We then slept the night away.
