This very enthusiastic cashier had our kids compete in rock-paper-scissors for their place in line and had them calculate their change before she gave it to them. Her "Thank you for protecting my country," spoken in heavily accented English to the man in uniform behind us, was clearly heartfelt. Math and civics lessons before we even left the airport.
